Applications Developer Intern

Description: Responsible for prototyping technologies that the company was interested in adopting, documenting them, and then training software engineers across the company on how to integrate the approved technologies. Under the supervision of the H.I.T. Director, I designed, created, and helped lead the implementation of what is now called "I.T. Academy" for the company: an internal business service responsible for teaching new technologies to the various I.T. department engineers. I lead a team of 3 Blue Shield software engineers and 4 contract consultants from Red Hat for the first test of this new program. Together we trained 27 applications teams and containerized 8 APIs using Red Hat OpenShift.
Prototyping new software in the Blue Shield Environment with an emphasis in documentation for later training purposes.
Cross-team coordination with the dev-ops team to make new dev-ops and CI/CD protocols for cloud migration using Jenkins, Git, and GitLab.
Definition of enterprise-wide process for adopting prototyped software.
Definition of employee training programs for cloud migration using Red Hat OpenShift containerization.
Created documentation and documentation standards for using new software in the Blue Shield Environment.
Trained over 50 lead and senior engineers across 27 different teams.
H.I.T. was mostly focused on exploring and adopting Red Hat OpenShift while I was there. The team also started exploring tools for synthetic data for testing purposes.
